‘Ojala’, by Silvio Rodriguez, is one of the most romantic songs ever created. Simple as that really. Rodriguez is a Cuban folk musician, marked as the leader of the Nueva Trova movement. The movement that emerged in Cuba in the late 60s after Fidel’s coup and the subsequent change in the political atmosphere. Rodriguez’s lyrics have always been eloquent and symbolic. Either way, ‘Ojala’ is one of my favorite songs ever.
